Prom Safety
The Canadian Dermatology Association’s National Sun Awareness week is June 4-10, 2012. The purpose of this annual campaign is to educate Canadians about the dangers of too much sun in order to stop the rising incidence of skin cancer in the country. The Huron Healthy Schools group along with York Region Public Health Nurses, will be in the cafe during periods 2, 3 and 4 June 4-8 providing resources and activities regarding sun safety and information on the dangers of tanning beds. We will be starting our Tan Free Prom campaign this week as well. If you pledge to be tan free for the Huron 2012 prom you could win your ticket to the prom.
